In the Mood for... Limited-Edition Tees?
April 18th, 2008 | New York
With slow-burning, highly-stylized films like In the Mood for Love and Happy Together, Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-wai has converted legions of moviegoers into cult fans. Kar-wai's latest endeavor, My Blueberry Nights (in theaters now), is his first in America. While he was scouting locations for the film, Kar-wai traveled around the country and shot photographs of potential scene settings. To coincide with Blueberry's April release, Opening Ceremony has designed limited-edition tees, posters and postcards that feature images from Kar-wai's journey, all of which were used as sets in the film. As with the cinematography in Kar-wai's films, the images printed on the Blueberry tees are richly colored and capture a sensuous beauty in the most unlikely of places.—J.K. Glei
