JC Report: We're referring to you and your brand as empire building, tell us about the ownership structure of the company.

Dave Eisenberg: The company was founded in 2007 by Brian Spaly and Andy Dunn—the emperors, if you will. We believe strongly, however, that the best empires are one in which its citizens (our employees) are all owners of the enterprise. As such, every employee at Bonobos shares in the potential upside of building a great business.

During São Paulo Fashion week, there's one name that tastemakers, journalists and fashionistas all look forward to: Alexandre Herchcovitch. The 38-year-old designer is known for pushing buttons that most of his Brazilian colleagues don't dare even consider—a high level of pressure that's now coupled with the equally lofty expectations of his new financial backer, Inbrands. While Fashion Rio sprouted fresh roots in ownership and location this season, the strong collections that came down the runway for spring/summer '10 played their part to support the recent explosion of fashion related investments in Brazil. To inaugurate the change of management and new identity, creative director Paulo Borges appropriately transplanted the event from Marina de Gloria to Pier Mauá, a stunning sprawl of warehouses on Guanabara Bay.
