Mesop, Another Aussie Standout
February 20th, 2008 | Melbourne
We've long been over the moon for all things down under, and Mesop, a line of form-fitting basics is no exception. Since launching in 2005, the Melbourne-based brand has developed three distinct ranges—Basics, Naturals and Directional. The line uses high-quality materials like 100% cotton voile and jersey from Japan, and luxurious stretch wool knitted locally in Melbourne, to create their simple yet sophisticated pieces. And did we mention layering? The collection is part bodywear—tights, leotards and socks are all season staples—and part outerwear, creating a cohesive line of separates that can be worn together, or on their own. Mesop's fine fabrics and flattering fits differentiate them from the run-of-the-mill tees and tanks out there.
Their latest season, Winter 2008, has a very Grecian twist, and introduces new standouts like a Cowl Hoody and a Drawstring Cardigan that we can't wait to get our hands on. Sadly, inhabitants outside of Oz will have to wait a tad longer to snap up Mesop's new line, as distribution is currently limited to Australia. But the bodywear should be on its way to Asia, North America and Europe very soon.
