Leopold Conquers Australia

Designed by Shandor Gancs and Boyd Parry, Leopold has answered the prayers of fashion conscious Aussie men. The label's first brick-and-mortar store opened in 2007—right on Melbourne's City Square, between prestigious Collins Street and über-cool Flinders Lane—but it's quickly established itself at the forefront of the Australian menswear scene.

Gancs and Parry are design, technique and tailoring fiends, as is evident in their attention to detail, rich fabrics, unexpected details, artistic cuts, textures and bold colors. This compatibility makes their work appealing to a broad range of style conscious men looking for something a little out of the ordinary. The brand has earned a cult following among many of Australia's top fashion editors and stylists, in addition to inspiring feverish loyalty among the country's discerning consumer public. And, to compound this success, Gancs and Perry recently won the coveted 2008 Australian Fashion Awards for Best Menswear Designer.

This season, Leopold's range features bright, sporty garments, '70s-inspired details, a color palette of grey tones (from silver to charcoal), black, navy and cobalt blue, as well as metallic black and signature red accents. Key pieces in the collection include geometric and waffle knit sweaters, hooded sweatshirts, V-neck sweaters, loose Italian cotton cardigans, metallic jackets, sports shorts, tailored shirting, dark denim and tuxedo jackets.
