Cover Curation: Richard Haines' Illustrious Illustrations

Richard Haines
This month we are honored to feature illustrations of designer/artist/blogger Richard Haines as our cover art. The images, which Haines illustrated for JC Report take after his popular blog What I Saw Today, featuring hand-sketched looks from the endless runway that is New York City.

Haines' work combines a life-long love of drawing and fashion, a discerning eye for detail and poise as well as a genuine appreciation for the dynamics of daily urban living. After receiving a degree in graphic and fine arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, Haines lived in Paris before settling in his beloved New York. Having designed menswear for Calvin Klein, Perry Ellis and Bliss Blass, Haines decided to return to draftsmanship with his blog.

"Illustrating, for me, is getting the gesture of how a person feels in what he's wearing," Haines explains with great enthusiasm. "I love to capture the stance and attitude of how a person feels because they are wearing something that they know makes them feel good."

Check back to JC Report frequently to see the hand-picked selection of Haines work.
