Number (N)ine - an intriguing store lost in Tribeca, which features a Japanese clothing line. The cuts are very flattering and modern, and the fabrics are amazing. Very wearable but expensive.
Foundry Theatre - a troupe in NYC that puts together alternative plays in which the viewer is an active part of the performance. Plays can take place in restaurants or in private homes around the city. Sometimes, the audience even is the play (try Etiquette). I will say no more except that it is a unique experience.
Etat Libre D'Orange - an irreverent new fragrance brand from the creators of the canine fragrance "Oh my Dog!". Their manifesto: land of olfactory liberality, free from all taboos, where insubordination and olfactory eroticism reign. I fell in love with their magnificently scented candles, with names like "Bottes et cinturon" (translation "Boots and belt"), "Entrecuisse" (crotch) and "La nuit sera blanche et noire" ("The night will be white and black"). I also wear Rossy de Palma, a fabulous fragrance inspired by the eponymous Spanish actress.
Billy's Bakery - why wait in line at Magnolia when you can get the same mouth-watering cupcakes in a New York minute at Billy's in Chelsea? Most people know this already, but Billy was one of the two partners in Magnolia. They had a fall-out and Billy opened his own place. I also hear Billy has now become a she. All the more intriguing!
Alexander Wang - the most talented and uber-cool young designer since Zac Posen. Anna Wintour has already spotted him, and of course he was just nominated for a CFDA Award. I was lucky to be front row at his last show and simply adored his style and vibe.
